New Year, New You?

Every new year gives us the chance to embrace a new start, make the vow to be healthier, fitter, kinder…. Did you know that the top 5 New Year resolutions are:

1. Eat healthier.

2. Exercise more.

3. Lose weight.

4. Spend more time with family and friends.

5. Save money and spend less

As a nutritional therapist, there is nothing more exciting than hearing people commit to a new healthier way of living and eating. However, likely as not, 50% of us will fall off the wagon about 3 weeks in. Studies show that we are more likely to succeed if our goals are not about abstaining or avoiding, but about making changes that are small and achievable.

That’s where Nutritional Therapy can really help as we focus on SMART goals. That is goals which are Smart, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-based, and can help you to overcome limiting beliefs, guide you through procrastination, put the negative self-talk into perspective and succeed in making those changes to make your future self the one you want to be.

You need to be ready to embark on a resolution, and fad diets, unrealistic calorie counting, or military style exercise regimes will often as not end in failure, putting you right back at where you began. Anything which offers quick weight loss is unlikely to see you keep that weight off. However, my approach of a low glycaemic load along with the health coaching support can put you on the road to lasting changes and a healthier future.

So whether it’s on January 1st, or at some other point where you find the inspiration, why not click here to take the first steps with a free 20 minute Better Health Chat, and see how Nutritional Therapy & Health Coaching can help you.

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”– Barak Obama
